Mantap Academy — financial education in Petaling Jaya

A Place Where Financial Understanding Grows

We are an independent financial education centre in Petaling Jaya, dedicated to helping Malaysian adults navigate the financial decisions that come with life after 40.

Founded on a Gap We Kept Noticing

Mantap Academy was established in Petaling Jaya after a straightforward observation: many Malaysian adults in their 40s and 50s were making significant financial decisions — about their EPF, about property, about retirement — without a clear understanding of the options available to them.

Financial information existed, but much of it was attached to the sale of a product or was written in language that assumed prior expertise. What was missing was a calm, organised space where adults could learn at their own pace, ask questions without pressure, and leave with usable knowledge.

That is what Mantap Academy set out to create. Our programmes are not affiliated with any bank, investment house, or financial institution. We earn through education, not commission — and that shapes everything about how we teach.

Our Mission

To help Malaysian adults in their middle and later years build a clearer, more confident relationship with their financial lives — through education that is honest, practical, and free from sales agendas.

Our Values

  • Clarity over complexity — we make things understandable
  • Independence — no product recommendations, no commission
  • Respect — for where participants are starting from
  • Relevance — Malaysian context, Malaysian regulations, Malaysian lives

The People Behind the Programmes

Each member of our facilitation team brings years of hands-on experience in their area — and a genuine interest in making financial knowledge accessible.

How We Ensure Quality in Every Session

Content Accuracy

All programme content is reviewed annually against current Malaysian regulations, EPF policy updates, and property market developments to keep information accurate and current.

Small Group Size

Cohorts are kept to no more than twelve participants. This is a deliberate choice, not a capacity constraint — it ensures every participant has room to engage and ask questions.

No Sales Environment

We maintain a strict policy against product promotion within our sessions. No financial product, insurance policy, or investment scheme is recommended at any point during our programmes.

Participant Confidentiality

All personal financial information shared during sessions remains confidential to the group. Facilitators adhere to a clear code of conduct around participant data and session content.

Post-Session Follow-Up

Participants receive reference materials after each session and have access to a follow-up Q&A channel where questions arising after the session can be addressed by the facilitator.

Continuous Improvement

Participant feedback is collected at the end of each programme cycle and used directly to refine session content, pacing, and delivery. We take that input seriously.

Financial Education Grounded in Malaysian Context

Mantap Academy occupies a particular niche in Malaysia's adult education landscape: financial literacy specifically designed for the 40-plus demographic. This focus matters because the financial questions faced by adults in this life stage — EPF account management, property refinancing, caring for ageing parents while supporting children — are meaningfully different from the questions that affect younger adults.

Our facilitators draw on direct experience in Malaysian financial services, property advisory, and community financial counselling. Sessions reference actual EPF withdrawal categories, current stamp duty structures, and real property market data from the Klang Valley and beyond. Worksheets and case studies are built on Malaysian examples, not adapted from foreign curricula.

Adults who attend our programmes often share that what they valued most was not just the information itself, but the environment in which it was delivered: measured, unhurried, and respectful of the experience they already bring to the room. Financial understanding is not about starting from zero — it is about building on what you already know, filling the gaps that matter most to your particular situation.

Based in Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya, Mantap Academy serves participants from across the Klang Valley and offers online sessions for those outside the Selangor area. Our programmes are conducted in English, with facilitators available to clarify in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin as needed.
